Part 4
The floor:
• Cut a 3mm (1/8 inch) strip from thin handmade paper, or any textured paper.
• Cut the strip into 3mm pieces. You will have lots of 3mm square pieces now.
• Paint the floor area with gray acrylic paint.
• Apply glue to the floor area, smooth down with a toothpick, and start laying the tiles from left to right, in straight rows. (Not that easy, just look at my floor! I’ll just say I went for the rustic look.)
• Leave to dry, and then brush a layer of matt sealer onto the floor.
• When dry, paint with the Antiquing Medium, and wipe off again

The barrels:
• Sand the bits on the turning to the desired shape if necessary.
• Paint with brown paint
• Draw lines with your gold gel pen to resemble the hoops.
• Cut through the turning with a sharp blade.
• Sand the ends smooth.
• Paint the ends with antiquing medium. That will show up as a different shade than the rest of the barrel, and give it a bit of definition.

The barrel support:
- Put two pieces of Paperwood together, and line up the 2 edges. (Hint: start with a bigger piece to make it more manageable, you can cut it down later).
- Position your 1/16 inch hole punch over the straight edges of the paper strips, and punch 2 half-circles on the edge of the 2 layers.
- Check to see if it fits your barrels. Cut down a bit if necessary.
- Cut those strips down to 10mm wide, and 2mm high. (The 2 pieces in the center of Fig.23)
- Cut another 2mm strip, and cut that strip up in 3 X 5mm lengths. These strips will go between the curved strips

- Apply glue to 2 ends and the center of one of the curved pieces.
- Important: Before you glue, check the length of your barrels. If the 3 short pieces are too long, cut it down a bit. The ends of your barrels should overhang the support a bit on both sides.
- Glue the 3 short pieces to the glue lines. It should now form the letter E. Press down on each section to make sure it touches the floor.
- Now leave it! Don’t fiddle. Wait for the glue to dry. Yes, I mean it. Go make coffee!
- Apply glue to the leftover piece like you did with the first one, and glue to the E. You should now have a completed barrel support. See Fig.*
