Bear Shop
Okay, maybe "Bear Shop" is a very boring name for a shop, but I found the alphabet in the scrapbooking section of a craft store, and it only had one of each letter of the alphabet. It was too expensive to buy more, so I had to think of a name that didn't use more than one of each letter! It just went so perfectly with the colour sceme of the shop, that I had to buy it.
I have a dear friend in Cape Town, Anna Braun, who makes the most gorgeous little stuffed animals. They all have different facial expressions and personalities; its impossible not to love them. I started buying one every now and then, and slowly my collection grew. I didn't want to put them in a miniature scene where they could get dusty, so I made a shopfront for them. Of course they deserved a nice spot where they could play and have fun. I had this mental image of a tree and a swing, and that is what they got.
The tree was made using a wire armature, covered with Paperclay, textured and colourwashed using
diluted water paints. The foliage is a type of railroad landscaping product, called Heki-Flor.
All the furry animals in the scene were made by Anna Braun. The little pewter mouse underneath the tree was created by Scott Kerkoski from Colorado, USA.

The teddies on the shelves in the foyer are resin. I made and painted the wallhanging shelf.
The Beatrix Potter book was a gift from Lesley Klopper.
The teddy on top is by Anna Braun.
