When I do a project, I try to take notes and write down what I did. People sometimes ask which method I've used for a specific technique or process, and its hard to remember after a few months or years. I'm sort of a compulsive writer of instructions, as far as my miniatures go. In "real life" I'm not that organised! When I bought my digital camera, I started taking pictures of the processes involved in a project, taking notes of what I used. So this record keeping habit of mine made me think that maybe other miniaturists might be interested in making some of my projects. I have many more up my sleeve, now I just need the time to organize the information.
My Wine Cellar project was published in American Miniaturist, March 2005.
In 2006, the Editor of Dollshouse and Miniature Scene, a UK magazine (Warners Group Publications), asked me to write a profile about myself and my work (weird experience!) for the magazine, and to include pictures of my miniatures and projects.
I was very excited when she asked if they could use my wine cellar on the cover. My very own 5 minutes of fame!
