Miniature Dolls
Miniaturists are roughly in two camps regarding dolls in miniature scenes. (Or shall we say miniature people?). One group says dolls detract from the whole of the scene, and others can't imagine miniature scenes without dolls. I never used to like miniature dolls, but when Dana visited South Africa from the US, I gave it a try. It was fun to dress and wig the dolls, and I will do it again. I still have lots of naked dolls begging to be dressed and wigged, poor things.
However, I think there must be a third group, to which I belong. I will make/buy a doll if he/she can be part of a scene, or I will even build a scene around the doll. But in certain scenes, especially if its a bit overcrowded with objects, a doll just doesn't work. Just personal taste!
